Application
Entry requirements To enter the Medicine and Surgery School a secondary school certification is necessary. In case of foreign students the secondary school certification (following at least 12 years of school education) should be attested by a translation legalized (Dichiarazione di valore) by the appropriate Italian Embassy/Consulate in the student’s country of orign. Tuition Fees The first year is tuition free: the amount of 117.56 Euros will cover registration fee, regional tax and fixed stamp duties.
Enrolment process To enter the Medicine and Surgery School an admission exam have to be carried out following the requirements of the announcement of competition reported in …. A total of 80 student can be admitted to the Course, 70 student from European Union Countries and 10 students from outside European Union (separate classification).
Registration (students from the European Union, studentsfrom the outside the European Union, legally residing in Italy and Italian citizens with foreign qualifications) The above categories of students (1) are eligible for the Masters Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery as long as they have a valid qualification and pass the entrance competition. Students from Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and the Republic of San Marino are equated with students from the European Union. Once they have passed the entrance competition, students can formally enrol in person at: Enrolment Office (Ufficio Matricola): Piazza Leonardo da Vinci (open Monday to Friday: 9:30 am - 12:00 pm) with the following documents: A) Certificate in its original copy with attested translation legalised (Dicharazione di valore) by the appropriate Italian Embassy/Consulate in the student’s country of origin. The attestation should declare that the certificate is valid for enrolment in the Faculty o Medicine and Surgery at an University in the country where the certificate was issued. For students who come from a country where there are no universities or faculties Medicine and Surgery, a Secondary School Certificate issued by the student’s country of origin (following at least 12 years of school education) will be considered valid for enrolment in the University of Pavia. The Embassy or Consulate should indicate the marks obtained in the final school exam (with the equivalent Italian score, where possible) on the attestation. This will help students take advantage of the benefits provided by either the University of Pavia or E. D. I. S. U. (Institution for the Right to University Studies). B) Post-Secondary Certificate from a non-university institute for students who have completed fewer than 12 years of school education. C) EU and non-EU citizens legally residing in Italy must submit a photocopy of both sides of a legally valid personal identification document. Students will be identified on the basis of this document (identity card, driving license, passport, etc.). D) Photocopy of the fiscal code card (which can be requested at the Finance Office (Uffici Finanziari) – Via Mazzini, 18 – Pavia).
(1)The following students are also allowed to apply: - foreign students with valid residence cards or permits for employed or self-employed work, family reasons, political asylum, humanitarian asylum, religious reasons; - foreign students who have been legally residing on Italian territory for at least a year and who have a secondary school certificate awarded in Italy; - foreign students residing in Italy or abroad who have a secondary school certificate from an Italian school outside Italy or from a foreign international school in Italy or abroad, subject to a bi-lateral agreement or special rules that allow recognition of diplomas and certificates. These students must in any case satisfy the general entry conditions (for student visas) into Italy; - the citizens from countries where a special entrance exam is held for enrolment into local universities (e.g.: Vestibular in Brazil, Selectividad in Spain, etc.) should submit both the certificate attesting they have passed such an exam, and their secondary school certificate.
Registration (non- European Citizens residing outside Italy) Foreign citizens residing outside Italy have to follow the enrolment conditions for Italian students and formally enrol, in person, at the following office:
